Erwin Koeman has been named as an assistant to Phillip Cocu at Fenerhabce.

Cocu left PSV for Fenerhabce earlier this summer but was yet to name his assistant. He has picked Erwin Koeman, who has been out of work since his brother Ronald was sacked by Everton last season.

Koeman was a head coach of RKC in 2014 but has since worked as his brother’s right-hand man. However, he did not join Ronald when he took over the Dutch national team earlier this year.

Cocu said on the Fenerbahce website, “I am very pleased that with the experience of Erwin we can make a major contribution to the development of the team and the players.”
