The 18-year-old has made a big impression since breaking into the Ajax first team last season and could make his Netherlands debut against England or Portugal in the coming few days.

Club from the Premier League are now said to be circling the young winger, who is yet to sign a new deal with Ajax despite months of talks.

During his press conference on Thursday, Koeman was asked if he thinks its best for Kluivert to remain at Ajax instead of moving to the Premier League.

He said, “Let’s hope so. They can then play every week and develop further. It is ultimately not my decision.

“I have talked to him about it, he is now also talking to Ajax about a new contract. In my eyes, staying in the Netherlands for longer is best. He is only 18 years old, that is too early to go to the Premier League, I think.”
