Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has ended the speculation linking him with the Barcelona job.

Reports in Spain have made Koeman first choice for Barcelona should they decide to sack Ernesto Valverde, who has been widely criticised by fans.

Koeman fueled the rumours by refusing to rule out the switch during his Netherlands press conference last week.

However, Koeman has now drawn a line under the speculation and pledged his future to the Dutch national team.

He told NOS, “I have conformed to the KNVB.”

“If you still have a one-year contract after the European Championships, this is not the time. No matter how I respond, there will always be people who say: you see. If they come, he will go anyway, that is their good right. I know what I have agreed with the KNVB. That seems sufficient to me. “

Asked directly if this puts and to the rumours, Koeman said, “Yes, as far as I’m concerned.”
