Erwin Koeman is remaining calm and modest despite a good start to his spell as interim head coach of Fenerbahce.

The 57-year-old was put in temporary charge after Phillip Cocu’s sacking but he has overseen a turn in fortunes for the Turkish giants, who have won two and drawn one of his three games in charge.

Speaking to VI, Koeman said on the praise he has received so far and his future as Fenerbahce boss, “It’s good for me, such comments, but as long as I’m not officially informed, I can not say anything.”

Koeman also praised his players for the change in fortune, “They are the ones who have to do it on the field, because every coach has his own personality and way of working, but you still depend on your players”

Whether or not he gets the position permanently, Koeman is happy he decided to take on his role with Fenerbahce, “When I got the chance last summer, the adventure immediately drew. I’m not disappointed in that respect, I was looking for an adventure and I got one.”
