Ronald Koeman was proud of his Netherlands side as they came from behind to defeat Germany 4-2 on Friday evening.

Serge Gnabry made it 1-0 for Germany early on but in the second half, Frenkie de Jong, an own goal by Tah, Donyell Malen and Georginio Wijnaldum earned Netherlands a 4-2 victory which puts them well on track to reach Euro 2020.

After the game, Koeman told NOS, “We have won very well. We have done much more than Germany to win. Of course I enjoyed it, especially the second half. At half-time there was faith in each other and then finally winning 2-4 in Germany, that is worth a big compliment.

“It was a great evening, and the score could have been even higher. Even though Germany had a good chance in the first half to make it 2-0. But the team that wanted the win most deservedly won.”

Attention now turns to Estonia on Monday, “I do ask the team to finish these kinds of matches in a professional and good way,”
