New Ajax signing Mohammed Kudus considered choosing shirt number 34 but did not out of respect for Abdelhak Nouri.

The 19-year-old completed his €9 million move to Ajax on Thursday, and chose the number 20.
However, on his Twitter and Instagram page, Kudus revealed that he considered Nouri’s former number of 34. He wrote, “Elated to join Ajax & braced for the future cos it’s a special place with a new culture & challenges. I considered #34 but I dedicate my signing to Abdelhak Nouri “Appie”. A bro in faith to keep his dreams alive.”
Kudus is excited about signing for the club, “I look forward to further developing & winning with the team & fans. Officially a lion with the Lancers & de Godenzonen.”
