Heracles Almelo have recorded their first away win of the season after defeating Roda JC 3-0 in a snowy Kerkrade.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that Heracles boss John Stegeman would leave for Go Ahead Eagles at the end of the season. Any signs that his side would be distracted were ended on 13 minutes when Brandley Kuwas rifled a free-kick into the top corner from 30-yards to put them 1-0 up.

Roda JC went looking for an equaliser but they couldn’t click up front and several good attacks ended with the final ball.

Five minutes before the break, Heracles got their second of the game with Kristoffer Peterson cutting in from the left before firing a low strike past an unsighted Jurjus.

In the second half, chances were few and far between but Heracles did add a third just before the end with Peter van Ooijen finding the net with a fine strike from just outside the box.

The win lifts Heracles up to 9th while Roda JC remain second bottom and four points from safety.
