Kuyt was a cult figure in Rotterdam during a three year spell at Feyenoord which saw the forward net 71 times in 101 league matches before he joined Liverpool in 2006. Since leaving Kuyt has always maintained that he would return to De Kuip to finish his career, and reports in Turkey claim that when the Dutchman’s contract with Fenerbahce expires net summer, he will move back to Feyenoord.
Turkish newspaper Milliyet are reporting that the 34-year-old has already reached a verbal agreement to join Feyenoord next summer, when he will be a free agent.
Kuyt, who has 104 caps for Netherlands national team, has been with Fenerbahce for the last two years and helped them win the Turkish Super Lig title ahead of Wesley Sneijder’s Galatasaray last season.
He’ll be 35 by the time the new season starts then. Hope this isn’t true.
Can see what you mean Irving, but he won’t be a regular at 35 i wouldn’t think. Could be a good dude to have around the place though for the young players coming through.
Just thinking about the wage as well. Maybe he would take a massive cut in order to retire at his favourite club. I’m already disappointed that we never got a decent replacement for Pelle. A lot of hope lyes on the young shoulders of Te Vrede.
