Michel Vlap and Sam Lammers continued their excellent form as Heerenveen defeated ADO Den Haag 3-2 in the Hague.

Heerenveen were unbeaten in February and headed to ADO full of confidence.

The hosts started brightly but it was Heerenveen who eventually took the lead in the 21st minute when Vlap combined with Lammers before lifting the ball over Robert Zwinkels.

Lammers and Vlap remained dangerous before the break but Zwinkels kept the hosts in the game.

ADO Den Haag improved after the break and on 63 minutes they equalised. Tomas Necid headed in at the back post after a good cross by Nasser El Khayati.

Heerenveen restored their lead four minutes later with Vlap finding the net with a lovely free-kick. In the second minute of injury time, Lammers sealed the victory.

El Khayati scored a penalty in the 94th minute but that was nothing but a consolation for the hosts.

Heerenveen are up to eighth and can start thinking seriously of a European playoff spot. ADO are 12th.
