Noa Lang is excelling with Club Brugge but he still has regrets over his exit at Ajax. Especially his relationship with Erik ten Hag.

Lang is a boyhood Ajax fan but he left the club in the summer to join Club Brugge, where is excelling.

Speaking to De Telegraaf, Lang thinks he made the right decision to leave, “The trainer said that I would play an important role but I’m glad I decided to look at that and not blindly sign my new contract. The first three games I got seven minutes of playing time and then I knew enough: I have to go for my own development.”

Lang has regrets over his behaviour but feels he was driven to the exit by Ten Hag, “Do you know how difficult that decision was? I can be tough, but I had to let go several times. I felt so at home, but was driven to the exit. But my departure was certainly not only the fault of Ajax. I have had my stupid moments, I did not behave well. It is also largely my fault. “

On his relationship with Ten Hag he added, “It is clear that things were not right between the trainer and me. Everyone loved me at Ajax, except for one person. Many people think I am a funny, cheerful little guy who can also play football well. However, not everyone could do with that. The moment I indicated that a transfer would be better, I was no longer in the trainer’s plans.

“I wanted to be loaned, but he was so angry that he wanted to sell me. Not the management, but the trainer got his way. No, I never spoke to him again and I don’t want to. A new chapter has started and I’m going to make it a success.”

Lang has seven goals and four assists since joining Club Brugge.
