Illness and injury have forced Louis Van Gaal to change his final line-up for their friendly match in Paris tomorrow.

robbGoalkeeper Michael Vorm and midfielder Rafael van der Vaart (who was just added to the squad yesterday), have been sent back to their respective clubs after coming down with a flu.

Van Gaal will not call up a replacement keeper, making Ajax’s Jasper Cillessen and PSV’s Jeroen Zoet his only choices in goal. Ajax central attacking midfielder Siem De Jong has been called up to take van der Vaart’s spot.

Perhaps most importantly, Arjen Robben will not be featured in the friendly match tomorrow, after picking up a minor thigh injury – the winger is taking no chances on exacerbating his injury. While he will still travel to Paris with the team, chances are he’ll be watching from the bench.

These late changes to some veteran players may give the chance to some younger players to make a name for themselves in the national squad. Van Gaal may choose to start Quincy Promes (FC Twente), giving the player his first international cap.
