The Premier League side have reportedly lodged a €14 million bid for the Dutch centre-back and speaking at his press conference on Saturday, Inzaghi confirmed Hoedt’s desire to leave Lazio in search for more regular first team football.
He said, “He wants to play every week and has therefore expressed the wish to leave,”
Hoedt joined Lazio on a free transfer from AZ Alkmaar in 2015 and has played 48 times for the club since then.
Hoedt is an excellent centre back but, to be honest, he won’t be missed as there are still de Vrij, Bastos, Wallace, Radu and Felipe Luiz. Even Lucas Leiva can play in that position too if needed. Good bye and good luck, Wesley! Forza Lazio!
