VVV Venlo and PEC Zwolle played out a 1-1 draw in Limburg on Sunday.

Both sides went into the game with confidence after good starts to the campaign but it was PEC Zwolle who struck first on the half hour mark with Kingsley Ehizibue blasting the ball into the net after a corner fell at his feet.

VVV struggled to create chances but they equalised in the 69th minute through Clint Leemans, who curled a free kick past Diederik Boer and into the top corner.

The hosts then went looking for a winner but Boer saved well from both Vito van Crooy and Kelechi Nwakali, while Damian van Bruggen just missed with a free kick.

The point means PEC Zwolle rise to 6th while VVV sit 8th.
