Leroy Fer’s loan move from QPR to Sunderland is off after the Dutchman failed his medical examination on Wednesday.

fer dddSunderland had agreed a deal with QPR to loan the 25-year-old for a year, but when they discovered Fer would be unavailable for several weeks due to an injury the deal was called off.

A statement from Fer’s representative’s Wasserman read on twitter, “The transfer of Leroy Fer to Sunderland has been cancelled. Due to an injury Leroy is unavailable for certainly some weeks. Sunderland do not want to wait. Thus Leroy resumed training with QPR, ”

This is the second time in his career that Fer has missed out on a move due to a medical examination after similar problems in 2013 when Everton tried to sign the midfielder from FC Twente.
