Lieke Martens who was crowned player of the tournament at Euro 2017 spoke to the NOS after the Netherlands were crowned European champions.

The Barcelona forward had an excellent tournament and capped it with a goal in the 4-2 final win over Denmark.
Afterwards, Martens said, ”I felt good during the tournament and I did not expect to be crowned player of the tournament.
”Without my teammates and backroom staff it would not have been possible so it is because of them that I am player of the tournament and I am grateful.
”I am so proud of my teammates that we are European champions. It’s fantastic.
”We work together and we fight for one another. To score four goals in a final is amazing. I am so happy.”
