According to Voetbal International journalist Marco Timmer, Nicolas Tagliafico is in the spotlight at Barcelona, but no approach has been made to Ajax yet.

The Argentinian left-back has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona in the Spanish media in recent weeks.
VI’s Ajax journalist Marco Timmer knows that “Lines have been thrown out from Catalonia”, but he added, “Not yet towards Amsterdam and towards Marc Overmars. He has confirmed that no club has signed up for Tagliafico. But that he (Tafgliafico) wants to take a step himself is clear. I also expect that he is one of the players who will go.”
Should Tagliafico set his sights on Barcelona, Timmer believes his Argentina teammate Lionel Messi could play a role, “If he can make his dream come true and Barcelona wants him, as a replacement or stand-in for Alba, then I can imagine that one Mr. Messi has said a good word for him.”
