The left back was deemed surplus to requirements at De Kuip and has now signed a two-year deal with Heerenveen.

Woudenberg said, ”I have a great feeling after signing for SC Heerenveen and I am really happy with this new step in my career. The club showed a great interest in signing me and I wanted to come here too.

”The Abe Lenstra stadium is a great place to play football and I also had good talks with the manager Jurgen Streppel who told me what he expected of me and how he wants me to play.

”I will be a left back who first has to deal with my defensive duties and I will be combative and get up and down the pitch for 90 minutes.

”I have a double feeling upon leaving Feyenoord. I was at the club from a very young age and I learnt a lot but I can’t wait to get started here at SC Heerenveen and I believe that this is the best step for me in my career.”
