Foot Mercato is reporting that Lyon made contact with Memphis to find out if he would be interested in a move to France and the winger responded positively.
However, with Manchester United unwilling to loan the Dutchman and looking for a transfer fee of around £20 million, the Lyon board is split on a permanent move for Memphis and will discuss it over the next few days.
The 22-year-old seems to have no future with Manchester United after once again being left out of their squad for Tuesday’s League cup semi-final with Hull City. Jose Mourinho has already stated that Memphis can leave this month, with Everton, Porto, Inter Milan, Roma and AC Milan some of the clubs linked.
