According to L’Equipe, Lyon wants to show support to injured forward Memphis Depay by extending the Dutchman’s contract.

The winger suffered an ACL injury last weekend that will end his season and possibly his chances of making the Netherlands squad for next summer’s European Championships.

However, Lyon want to show their support for the club’s captain by offering him a new deal. Depay’s current deal expires in 2021 but Lyon want to extend it.

According to L’Equipe the extension is not only to show their support but Lyon also want to prevent Memphis from leaving for a cut-rate fee.
