Barcelona are keen on signing the Dutch international, who is coming into the final year of his contract in Lyon. However, Barcelona’s finances are uncertain making a move for Memphis difficult.
Speaking to Le Progres, Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed that they have offered Memphis a big new deal, “It is clear that Barça’s finances make a transfer impossible at the moment.
“I have made him a contract proposal that in principle cannot be refused. It is a wonderful offer, I cannot do more.”
A departure may still happen, and Aulas added, “I would like to see Memphis stay. Nothing is impossible. I did everything possible. If he doesn’t stay, we will adapt.”
