Young Dutch defender Ian Maatsen was proud after making his unofficial debut for Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The 17-year-old came on for the second half of Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Bohemians on Wednesday.

After the game, Maatsen told Voetbal International, “I am seventeen years old.

“What I am experiencing and learning now is priceless. The only thing I can do is train hard and believe in myself. Then everything should be fine. This debut feels like a start.”

Maatsen also stated Frank Lampard was pleased with his performance, “The manager was satisfied. He thought that I had done a fantastic job and that he saw the way in which I train every day in the game. That naturally gave me a very good feeling.”
