Jordi Cruyff has been named the new head coach of Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The son of Dutch football legend Johan Cruyff was the technical director of Maccabi Tel Aviv but has now stepped into the role of head coach.
The appointment comes as a surprise with Cruyff turning down the chance to join Barcelona as a technical director in order to take up his first job in management.
The 43-year-old said on his appointment, “I’m very happy that I’m the new coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv. I start my sixth year at the club and knows exactly what to expect the owners and fans. I will do everything to meet those expectations. “
