Roger Schmidt made his unofficial debut as PSV Eindhoven head coach in the club’s 3-0 victory over SC Verl.

PSV were meant to face UNA last week but it was cancelled due to the amateur side having a positive covid 19 test.

On Saturday, Schmidt was finally able to take charge of PSV against SC Verl, who will play in the 3. Bundesliga next season.

The first half was a stroll for PSV with young English attacker Noni Madueke netting a hattrick. The 18-year-old made four Eredivisie appearances last season before corona virus ended the campaign, but he looks set to play a big role under Schmidt.

In the second half, PSV didn’t add any further goals although Cody Gakpo made a positive impression. On Sunday, PSV will face KFC Uerdingen.
