Mimoun Mahi missed Groningen’s 2-1 win over Vitesse on Sunday as he completes a move away from the Euroborg.

Fox Sports is reporting that Mahi missed Sunday’s victory as he is currently in Switzerland to wrap up a transfer to an unnamed side. Voetbal International have now revealed that FC Zurich will be Mahi’s new club.

The transfer window is still open in Switzerland until the 15th of February and Mahi is set to complete his move on either Sunday evening or Monday.

The 24-year-old’s contract at Groningen expires this summer and the club were hoping to sell the winger in order to avoid him leaving for nothing.

Mahi has been with Groningen since joining from Sparta Rotterdam in 2014. He has made 126 appearances for the club, scoring 36 times, while also adding 19 assists.
