Pep Guardiola’s defence has been far from secure this season, and The Telegraph believes if Manchester City back four continue to concede over the next few weeks, they will make a move for Van Dijk.
The Southampton centre-back has been in outstanding form so far this season and is being heavily linked with a move away from the club in January. Chelsea, Everton, and Liverpool are all believed to be lining up moves for the former Groningen and Celtic star next month.
However, any move is set to be costly with Saints boss Claude Puel denying claims the 25-year-old has a £25 million release clause, and the club are set to slap a £40 million price tag on the defender.
