The Premier league club today met with Guido Albers, Sneijder’s agent, as they seek a replacement for midfielder Frank Lampard, who moves to New York City in January.
Sneijder’s current club Galatasaray are in financial trouble at the moment and may look to offload the high earning Dutchman in January to ease their troubles.
The 30-year-old has been linked with both Manchester United and Southampton over the past few days, but it may be the Premier League champions that win the race for the former Ajax and Inter Milan star.
