The 18-year-old has been linked with the Premier League giants ever since Jose Mourinho was spotted having talks with the youngster after the Europa League final last year.

The Mirror is reporting on Sunday that Manchester United are now close to agreeing a £10 million fee with various add-ons for the son of former Netherlands legend Patrick Kluivert.

Kluivert made his first team debut for Ajax last season and has so far made 42 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals and adding seven assists.

His contract at Ajax runs out in the summer of 2019 and the Amsterdammers have been working hard to get him to sign a new deal. However, no agreement has been reached so far and that may have given Manchester United the chance to swoop.
