van gaDavid Moyes was sacked as Manchester United coach on Monday after an unsuccessful campaign, which has seen the Premier League champions fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Louis van Gaal is the current favourite to take over at Old Trafford, with the current Netherlands coach making no secret of his desire to manage in the Premier League after the World Cup this summer. Tottenham were the previous favourites to snap up the former Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Ajax coach when he leaves his position with the Dutch national team, but it now appears its between Manchester United, and surprisingly Arsenal.

Voetbal International sources are reporting that with Arsene Wenger, and Arsenal refusing to comment on their future after this season, Van Gaal is being lined up to take over at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have appointed three Dutchmen as coaches in their academy, which VI believe is further indication of their interest in the 62-year-old.

This summer is set to be full of rumours regarding Van Gaal’s future, and with the Dutchman not free until Netherlands are either knocked out of, or win the World Cup, his name is going to be the talk of English media for the next few months.
