According to BILD, Werder Bremen are not yet close to agreeing a deal with Manchester United to sign Tahith Chong on loan.

Werder Bremen made it clear last week that Chong was a key target for the club, and there are reports that the young Dutch winger wants to join the Bundesliga club.

However, BILD is reporting that a deal is not close yet with both clubs far apart in negotiations.

Manchester United reportedly wants Werder Bremen to pay the wingers full salary and pay a fee of €2.8 million. The German club is not willing to agree to this and only wants to pay part of the salary.

Negotiations will continue with a two-year loan deal being discussed.
