Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is on trial with Heerenveen as he hopes to earn a contract in Friesland.

The 22-year-old was handed his debut when Louis van Gaal was head coach of the Premier League giants. However, after the Dutchman’s departure he fell down the pecking order.

Over the past two seasons, Borthwick-Jackson has spent time on loan with Leeds United and Scunthorpe United.

On Monday, the defender will begin a trial with Heerenveen as he looks to impress the club and earn a move to the Eredivisie.
