The 27-year-old has only made five appearances in the Premier League this season and was heavily linked with a departure in January.

However, Manchester United don’t want the Dutch international to leave on a free and have used an option to extend his contract for another year. It is still likely that Blind will depart Old Trafford in the summer.

Blind has been with Manchester United since joining from Ajax in 2014 and has made 139 appearances for the club, scoring six times.
