clas and indiSince being announced as the new coach of Manchester United earlier this moth, Louis van Gaal has been linked to signing a number of the Dutch players he currently manages in the national team.

Today the Daily Express are reporting that Van Gaal has given the go ahead for his new club to launch a £30 million bid for Feyenoord defender Bruno Martins Indi and mdifelder Jordy Clasie.

Van Gaal was the man who brought both the 22-year-olds into the Dutch national team, and they are set to be in Netherlands squad for this summer’s World Cup.

Martins-Indi is a tough defender, who can play either in the centre or at left back, but its in the middle that he is most impressive. His form over the past two seasons for Feyenoord has seen him compared to Jaap Stam, while brought interest from clubs such as Everton and AC Milan.

Clasie, nicknamed the Dutch Xavi, has become one of the best young midfielders in the Dutch Eredivisie over the past few seasons. Sitting just in front of the back four, Clasie is excellent at dispossessing opponents, and then building an attack with his array of passes. His excellent vision was on show against Ecuador in the recent friendly, with Clasie setting up Van Persie with a 40-yard pass over the top.

Martins Indi is definitely set to leave Feyenoord this summer, but after just being made captain of the club, and with Champions League football on the horizon, Manchester United will have to work hard to snatch Clasie from the club he loves.
