News in France earlier this week stated Lyon were in negotiations with Manchester United for the winger, who has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford this month.
RMC reported on Thursday that the two clubs were still in negotiations and later on in the evening Sky Sports has claimed Lyon have had a bid of £13 million rejected for the 22-year-old. That offer would be two million short of United’s apparent asking price of £15 million and significantly less than what the club paid PSV to sign the Dutch international 18 months ago.
Negotiations between the two clubs are set to go on and it is still unclear whether any other club will challenge the Ligue 1 side to the signing of Memphis, with Everton, Roma, AC Milan and Nice all reported to be interested.
