The Dutch international’s current contract expires next summer, but it includes the option to extend for another year, which Manchester United are set to use.
Blind has found it difficult to earn his place in the Red Devil’s starting line-up this season, with the versatile defender making only four appearances so far in the Premier League.
Manchester United are thought to be extending his deal in order to receive a larger transfer fee should they decide to sell him in either January or next summer.
