Van Gaal spent around £150 million during the summer to bolster the United squad with players such as Daley Blind and Angel di Maria, but he is set to go on another spree in the summer to turn the club into Premier League title challengers once again.
According to the Telegraph, Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman, who has been a long term Manchester United target, will head the list of players moved for at the end of the season. The 24-year-old has just returned from a long term injury, but Van Gaal is determined to be re-united with the midfielder who was a key part of his Netherlands squad.
Another Dutchman on Manchester United’s radar according to the Guardian is Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben, with the club set to tempt Bayern Munich in the summer with a big offer. The 30-year-old has a contract in Munich until 2017, and has been the key player for Pep Guardiola’s side so far this season, scoring eight goals in thirteen games.
