Brands stated that PSV Eindhoven have full confidence in manager Phillip Cocu despite growing pressure from the media and some sections of the fanbase.
He said ”It has been a difficult night where we have not slept much and we have thought a lot about things. I believe the biggest problem we had against NK Osijek was the match at home. We made things difficult for ourselves and in the two games we have not shown what we can do.
”It is a big disaster which has never happened before. This is a massive disappointment for us and the fans of PSV Eindhoven.
”The position of Phillip Cocu is not an isssue for us. I am only thinking about what the consequences of the club could be in terms of less money coming in, our budget and the squad.
” We had a difficult year last year in which we only lost two league games but we drew far too many. We have internally evaluated that with the backroom staff and made changes. We are not going to change that again after only two matches.
” We have full confidence in Phillip Cocu.”
