Keizer stated that it would be a disaster if Ajax were to be eliminated from the competition, he also talked about the transfer speculation regarding Davinson Sanchez and his proposed move to Tottenham.

He said on Sanchez, ”Davison Sanchez is in the squad to play Rosenborg tomorrow. Davinson trained today. We are fully aware of the interest he attracts but tomorrow we must do what is the best for Ajax and my team.

”We are not planning to use any excuses in the run up to tomorrow’s game in regards to potential transfer activity. We have good players in our squad. During the transfer window, there are more clubs facing these types of scenarios until 1st September and we have to learn to deal with it.”

On opponents Rosenborg, Keizer added, ”We have studied Rosenborg well and they are a physically strong team. Teams from Norway are often described as compact and physically strong but Rosenborg have a few creative players too.

”The game is sold out tomorrow so we plan to take full advantage playing at home in Amsterdam. Elimination from the Europa League would be a disaster not only for Ajax but for Dutch football too.”
