Keizer admitted he was shocked by the way his players lost the game and conceded that Ajax’s start to the season could be called a crisis.

He said, “We were average today and we did not appear to be in the game from minute one.

“I am amazed as I thought that we would get a positive result today. We have had moments in previous games this season where we have shown what we can do.

“The level of Ajax must improve. We were very careless today and showed no confidence in possession. We must now improve this on the training pitch. I had hoped that we would win today and it’s tough to take ” .

“The press always like to use the word crisis but I must get my team back to winning ways.

” If you drop 8 points in the first 6 Eredivisie games then you could speak of a crisis.”
