The 60 year old was announced to take over from interim boss Zizo by Al Ahly on Wednesday, with Jol signing a contract with the Cairo based club for two-and-a-half years.
Jol started his management career at Roda JC in 1996 and has went on to manage RKC, Tottenham Hotspur, Hamburg SV and Ajax. The former midfielder has been out of work since leaving Fulham back in 2013.
Al Ahly have been champions of their country 37 times in their history, and Jol takes charge with the club leading the table by two points. At his new club Jol will be reunited with Hossam Ghaly who he brought to Tottenham Hotspur from Feyenoord in 2006.
