VVV Venlo gained a point having lost their three previous Eredivisie games.

Steijn said, ”We had the intention to pick up all 3 points tonight. I believe that NAC Breda came to Venlo and set their stall out to be satisfied with a point.

”We were average tonight. We believed that a home game against NAC Breda is a game we should target to win but we did not do enough to win the game.

”We wanted to bring the same intensity as the KNVB Cup match against FC Utrecht and our starting lineup was near enough the same but I felt that we were not good enough.

”I believe as a manager and a team that you must read theĀ game. We have played better in previous games this season against better opponents. Perhaps there is a bit of pressure creeping with comments from pundits and the media about the fact that we lost our previous three Eredivisie matches.

”I have taken the comments away from my team as we have spoken about it. We knew before the season started that with our resources that we may have a patch in the season where we do not pick up any points.

”It appeared towards the end of the game that we anxious not to lose the game.

”If I was to give this match a grade. I am a glass half full man so I would say 5/ 10 ”
