Groningen have confirmed that Samir Memisevic has departed the club to sign for Chinese side Hebei China Fortune.

The move has been in the works for over a week and on Friday, the defender’s departure was confirmed.

The 26-year-old has signed a multi-year contract with Hebei CF, who finished 11th in the Chinese Super League last season.

Memisevic played 109 games for Groningen over a four year period.
