Memphis Depay has won his first award with Lyon as his outrageous strike from halfway against Toulouse was named the Ligue 1 goal of the season on Monday.

The Dutchman was handed the award at the French football gala on Monday, with his strike against Toulouse coming out on top in a poll with 42% of the votes.

The award caps a positive start at Lyon for Memphis, who joined the club from Manchester United in January and has contributed seven assists and five goals since.
