Memphis Depay scored the opening goal as Lyon defeated Angers 2-1 to keep them on course for the Champions League.

The Dutch international began the last two league games, which ended in defeats, on the bench but he was restored to the starting eleven on Friday night.

After 15 minutes, Memphis opened the scoring, latching onto a long ball over the top before calmly firing Lyon in front.

Memphis would play 90 minutes before being substituted as Lyon defeated Angers 2-1. The victory sees Lyon stay clear in third and move within five points of Lille in second.

Memphis has now scored seven league goals this season.
