Memphis Depay’s fine start to the season continued on Saturday as he netted in Lyon’s 1-1 draw with Bordeaux.

The forward went into Saturday’s clash with three goals and an assist in the opening three Ligue 1 games.

After half-an-hour, Memphis made it four goals in four games with a fine finish from a tight angle after being played through by Martin Terrier.

In the second half, Lyon were reduced to ten men when Thiago Mendes saw red and that proved costly as Jimmy Briand equalised for Bordeaux.

Lyon now have seven points from four games, while Memphis is joint top scorer in the league. Memphis will join up with the Netherlands squad next week to prepare for the crucial Euro Qualifiers against Germany and Estonia.
