Feyenoord winger Steven Berghuis dropped out of the squad early on Sunday with a knee problem, while Luuk de Jong also signed off with a concussion suffered in PSV’s 1-1 draw with Heerenveen on Saturday.
Danny Blind has decided to call-up Manchester United’s Memphis Depay and PSV midfielder Siem de Jong as their replacements. Both have barely featured for the clubs so far this season, but with a lack of other options Blind has decided that the duo can join up with the rest of the squad for training on Monday.
Netherlands continue their World Cup qualifiers with a tie against Belarus on the 6th of October before hosting France at the Amsterdam Arena three days later.
