memphis mancheManchester United need to see of the Belgian side to qualify for the Champions League group stages, but got off to a poor start when Michael Carrick put the ball into his own net to make it 1-0 for Club Brugge.

However Memphis then came to the rescue for Louis van Gaal’s side with two excellent goals before the break. The former PSV star’s first goal saw him flick the ball over the head of a defender before driving into the box and firing into the bottom corner. Memphis then fired in a second with a curling effort from outside the box.

The goals clearly awoke confidence in Memphis, who has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League so far, and although he couldn’t complete his hat-trick, he sent an excellent cross into the box in injury time for Marouane Fellaini to add a third.

Daley Blind also put in another commanding performance at the back for United. The Dutch duo will hope to take their good form into the weekend’s tie with Newcastle United.
