A Youness Mokhtar double guided PEC Zwolle to a 2-1 win over Heracles Almelo.

John van ‘t Schip’s side have quietly had a good start to the campaign despite their loss to Ajax last week and they took the lead in the third minute through Mokhtar who dribbled from the left into the box before hammering his shot past Bram Castro from a tight angle.

The home side continued to dominate after the opener but couldn’t find a second before the break with Mustafa Saymak missing two decent chances.

PEC Zwolle struggled to put the game to bed after the break and eventually, Heracles leveled with Jamiro Monteiro’s free-kick beating Diederik Boer. However, five minutes before the end, Mokhtar once again went on a fine run into the box and sent a low strike into the bottom corner to seal a victory for PEC Zwolle.

The win moves PEC Zwolle to fourth while Heracles are 11th.
