The 25-year-old was surplus to requirements at Tottenham Hotspur this summer and was looking for a new club.
Schalke 04 had been linked but instead, Janssen has decided to continue his career in Mexico. Monterrey and Tottenham have both announced that a deal has been reached for the striker. The fee is believed to be around €7 million.
Janssen has signed a contract with Monterrey but it’s length has not yet been revealed.
The move brings an end to a poor three year spell for the Dutch international at Tottenham. Janssen signed for the Premier League club in 2016 for €20 million but in 42 games he only scored six times.
