According to Sky Sports, the French Ligue 1 side submitted a £13 million bid for the Dutch international, which was rejected by Manchester United.

Speaking at his press conference, Jose Mourinho said on the offer, “The state of affairs is that the offer we have received is far from acceptable to us.

“At the moment he (Memphis) is one of us. If nothing happens anymore, he is an additional option for us after the transfer window.”

In France, Lyon coach Bruno Genesio stated the club had made signing Memphis was “top priority” for the club this January. However, Lyon will have to increase their offer significantly with some reports stating Manchester United’s asking price is £15 million, while others increase that to £20 million.
