Vitesse Arnhem has been dealt a cruel blow with new loan signing Charly Musonda picking a serious injury.

The 21-year-old Belgian joined Vitesse on loan from Chelsea on the final day of the transfer window and made his unofficial debut in a friendly with Antwerp FC last weekend. Musonda came off after a knock on his shin.

Further investigations on the knock have unveiled what looks like a serious Tibia injury and the winger has returned to London for further tests. It is expected that Musonda will be out for months.

The news will be a blow to Vitesse boss Leonid Slutsky, who is also without Rasmus Thelander, who has a serious knee injury.
